ARS, and transported to a California State-certified analytical laboratory under
appropriate chain-of-custody documentation.
One subsurface soil sample and one grab groundwater sample from each boring will be
analyzed for the following parameters:
■ Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH) as Diesel and Motor Oil—United States
Environmental Protection Agency(USEPA)Method 8015
■ TPH as Gasoline; Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs); Benzene,Toluene,
Ethylbenzene, and Xylene(BTEX); and Methyl Tert Butyl Ether(MTBE) -
USEPA Method 8260, and
■ Copper and Lead-USEPA Method 6010B.
The drilling equipment will be steam cleaned prior to the initial borehole advancement
and between each borehole location. The soil core samplers will be cleaned between each
sample with laboratory-grade detergent and potable water. The rinse waters and detergent
will be contained in 55-gallon drums. Upon completion of the boreholes, all residual soil
cuttings and sample liners will be contained in an additional 55-gallon drum. The drums
will be left onsite pending analytical results. Upon completion of the field activities, the
boreholes will be backfilled with a cement/bentonite mixture to abandon the boreholes.
