This letter <br /> report describes the activities conducted to decommission 12 monitoring wells at the 2041 <br /> Navy Drive site and 5 monitoring wells at the 1856 Field Avenue site. The well <br /> decommissioning activities were inspected by Ms. Diane Hinson of the San Joaquin County, <br /> Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD). This letter report is divided into the following <br /> sections: Background; Field Activities; and Conclusions. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Lika's former Field Avenue site is located at 1856 Field Avenue in Stockton, California. <br /> The site is bounded on the south by the Stockton Deep Water Channel, commercial property <br /> to the east, residential property to the north, and Carlson's Boatel storage facility to the west <br /> (Figure 2). Lika occupied the building from August 1982 to April 1985 and used it for the <br /> manufacturing of printed circuit boards. In March 1986, Lika contracted Woodward-Clyde <br /> to conduct an investigation to evaluate the extent of soil and groundwater contamination at <br /> the site. Several localized areas of contamination requiring clean up were identified in the <br /> investigation. Woodward-Clyde was contracted to oversee the clean up of the areas <br /> identified in the investigation.
