(Tesoro), and Former
Time Oil Company (FTOC). These terminals are collectively referred to as the Site.
18 March 2011 Response to August 31, 2010 RWQCB Letter(Letter)
29 April 2011 First Quarter and 2011 Site Status, Groundwater Monitoring and
Remedial Summary Report(QMR)
• 23 May 2011 May 13, 2011 Meeting Summary(Meeting Summary)
The Letter responds to and comments on the Central Valley Water Board staff request
to expand the sampling program for methylene blue active substances (MBAS) to all
Port of Stockton wells and requested a meeting with Board staff. On 13 May 2011
Board staff met with the STTC to discuss the MBAS sampling program. The Meeting
Summary provides information on other potential sources for MBAS in the area, the
apparent lack of significant risk to human health and safety from MBAS, and the
inefficiency of the MBAS laboratory method to detect the constituents from the fire foam
release. In the Letter, the. STTC concludes that MBAS sampling and well over purging
are no longer necessary. Central Valley Water Board staff concur with these
assessments and conclusions.
The STTC conducts monitoring at the Site pursuant to Monitoring and Reporting
Program (MRP) No. R5-2004-0823. The QMR shows that depth to groundwater ranged
from about ground surface to 11 feet below ground surface (bgs). Horizontal and
vertical gradients were to the southeast and downward, respectively. The principal
constituents of concern (CDCs) at the Site include total petroleum hydrocarbons as
gasoline (TPHg), TPH as diesel (TPHd), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes
(collectively BTEX), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), methyl tertiary butyl ether
(MTBE), and tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA).
California Environmental Protection Agency
ed Recycled Paper
