Work is anticipated to begin on Tuesday, October 17, 1995. 7. Minimum Required Health and Safety Procedures: All ERM personnel will be provided with appropriate personal safety equipment and protective clothing. The Site Safety Officer is to direct each worker as to what protection is needed, and must provide proper training in the use of the safety equipment. The required personal protective clothing to be worn is assigned by this health and Safety Plan. During work activities, sustained (15 minute) PID readings of 0-5 ppm above background will require level D protection. Level D protection is as follows: • Long-sleeve shirt and long pants; • Outer nitrile gloves at a minimum for all material-handling. Inner latex surgical gloves are recommended where practical; • Steel-toed boots or safety shoes; • Safety glasses; and • Hard hat. Other personal protection readily available .For use, if necessary, include the following: • Chemical-resistant gloves; and • Hearing protection. During work activities, sustained PID readings of 6-25 ppm above background will require level C protection. Level C protection requires level D protection in addition to the following: • Half-face air-purifying respirator (APR) equipped with combination organic vapor/high-efficiency particulate air (NEPA) filter cartridges; • Chemical-resistant clothing (i.e., Tyvek, poly-coated Tyvek, or Saranex). Suits are to be one piece with attached hoods, booties, and elastic wrist bands; • Outer nitrile gloves and inner latex surgical gloves; and • Leather boots with rubber overboots. During work activities, sustained PID readings of 26-50 ppm above background will require level C protection with the addition of a full-face
