16+'10 '`95 MON, 11:09 FAX 15.109.9.96$ ERM FEST IVC 2004 <br /> Scheduled work will consist of the following activities: <br /> • Drilling with subsequent soil sampling. <br /> Work is anticipated to begin on Tuesday, October 17, 1995. <br /> 7. Minimum Required Health and Safety Procedures: <br /> All ERM personnel will be provided with appropriate personal safety <br /> equipment and protective clothing. The Site Safety Officer is to direct each <br /> worker as to what protection is needed, and must provide proper training <br /> in the use of the safety equipment. The required personal protective <br /> clothing to be worn is assigned by this health and Safety Plan. <br /> During work activities, sustained (15 minute) PID readings of 0-5 ppm <br /> above background will require level D protection. Level D protection is as <br /> follows: <br /> • Long-sleeve shirt and long pants; <br /> • Outer nitrile gloves at a minimum for all material-handling. Inner <br /> latex surgical gloves are recommended where practical; <br /> • Steel-toed boots or safety shoes; <br /> • Safety glasses; and <br /> • Hard hat. <br /> Other personal protection readily available .For use, if necessary, include <br /> the following: <br /> • Chemical-resistant gloves; and <br /> • Hearing protection. <br /> During work activities, sustained PID readings of 6-25 ppm above <br /> background will require level C protection. Level C protection requires <br /> level D protection in addition to the following: <br /> • Half-face air-purifying respirator (APR) equipped with combination <br /> organic vapor/high-efficiency particulate air (NEPA) filter cartridges; <br /> • Chemical-resistant clothing (i.e., Tyvek, poly-coated Tyvek, or Saranex). <br /> Suits are to be one piece with attached hoods, booties, and elastic wrist <br /> bands; <br /> • Outer nitrile gloves and inner latex surgical gloves; and <br /> • Leather boots with rubber overboots. <br /> During work activities, sustained PID readings of 26-50 ppm above <br /> background will require level C protection with the addition of a full-face <br />
