We
concur with the report's recommendations to investigate possible soil source
areas and to install more ground water monitoring wells in the shallow,
intermediate and deep water-bearing zones to define the extent of the polluted
ground water.
Please ensure the forthcoming Phase III Workplan, and subsequent site assessment
and remedial design efforts, consider the comments included in the attached
memorandum. Please submit the Phase III Workplan and the response to Comment No.
4 by 17 July 1991. We understand that the Phase III Workplan will propose a
compliance time schedule which we will consider in drafting a Cleanup and
Abatement Order.
If you have comments or questions, please call me at (916) 361-5653.
Ai iMchael Hig ' n
Project Engin r
cc: Ms. Eleanor Ratliff, San Joaquin County Public Health Serices, Stockton
Ms. Jeanne Zolezzi , Neumiller & Beardslee, Stockton
Mr. Gerald S.
