I
L
lk-
LEEDSHILL•HERKENHOFF. INC.
All monitoring wells ill be constructed and developed to provide discrete,
representative _samps'-Monitoring wells will be developed using a combina-
tion o air developmQnt; surging, and/or pumping as directed by the on-site
engineer. ue to the suspected volatile compounds being investigated,
extreme care will be exercised during the collection of these samples to
ensure representativeness. EPA and Health Services protocol will be fol -
lowed by field personnel during the collection, preservation, and transport
of collected samples, Water quality sampling __stabilization records and
chain-of-custody forms will accompany each set of samples.
Groundwater Sampling
Representative groundwater samples will be collected from each of the three
monitoring wells. The samples will be collected using a 4-inch diameter
stainless steel Grundfos submersible pump and galvanized discharge piping.
Each well will be pumped in an attempt to purge a minimum of 5 well volumes,
while field monitoring pH, conductivity, temperature and pumping rates to
establish stability. All equipment will be high pressure steam cleaned
prior to installation.
Analytical Methods
The analytical methods which will be utilized conform to EPA Test Methods
for Organic Chemical Analysis of Municipal and Industrial Wastewater and
Methods for Chemical Analysis of Water and Wastes. EPA Method 601 will be
used to analyze water samples from the monitoring wells. As required, all
positives will be dual confirmed by dissimilar column confirmation. All
analytical laboratory work will be conducted by Agriculture and Priority
Pollutants Laboratories, Inc. (APPL) a certified DOHS analytical laboratory.
All samples will be collected and preserved according to approved EPA meth-
odology; samples will be cooled to 4° C at the site and maintained at that
temperature until they are received at the laboratory. All samples will be
analyzed or extracted prior to expiration of approved holding times.
Completed records will be kept on all samples including sampling date,
sample type, preservation (if any) and location of sample. All samples will
be shipped to the laboratory within 24 hours of collection under approved
preservation techniques and with appropriate chain-of-custody procedures.
-4-
