In our letter, we noted that you must
remediate the ground water upgradient from the suspected source of the pollution.
We also stated you must confirm the results of the cleanup through sampling
additional ground water monitoring wells and analyzing the samples for the
constituents of concern.
Therefore, by 22 August 1991, to amend the Phase III Workplan, please submit a
letter proposal locating additional monitoring wells to be completed in the
shallow water-bearing zone upgradient of the suspected pollution sources. The
monitoring well (s) must be located to ensure that the plume(s) are defined by
samples containing non-detectable or nearly non-detectable concentrations of
volatile organic compounds.
If you have comments or questions, please call me at (916) 361-5653.
,Ow
Michael Higgins
Project Engineer
cc: ,ORFS' Eleanor Ratliff, San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Stockton
Ms. Jeanne Zolezzi , Neumiller and Beardslee, Stockton
Mr. Louis Green, Ware and Freidenrich, Palo Alto
Mr. Gerald Nakano, Kennedy/Jenks Consultants, San Francisco
