R EIV -61�evinef icke•Recon ENGINEERS,HVDfiOGEOLOGISTS 8 APPLIED SCIENTISTS SEP 3 August 29, 1997 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH 4111.90-001 PERMIT / SERVICES via U.S. mail TO: PARTIES ON THE ATTACHED DISTRIBUTION LIST Subject: Bimonthly Letter Report for June 1 through July 31, 1997, Lincoln Center, Stockton, California Dear Interested Parties: On behalf of the Settling Dry Cleaning Defendants, Levine-Fricke-Recon Inc. presents this letter report summarizing activities for the period of June 1 through July 31, 1997 ("the bimonthly period") at Lincoln Center, located in Stockton, California ("the Site," as defined in the First Final Consent Decree Order, Judgment and Reference To Special Master, filed with the Court on January 19, 1996). The information in this letter report is provided pursuant to Sections IV(A)(1)(f) and IV(F) of the "Permanent Injunction Governing Investigation, Monitoring, and Testing of the Hazardous Substance Contamination at and Emanating from Lincoln Center and Order of Reference to Special Master," issued by Judge Levi of the United States District Court, Eastern District of California, and filed on August 16, 1993. Ongoing Data Collection Activities The following data collection activities were conducted at the Site during the bimonthly period: • Newly installed B-zone monitoring wells MW-203B-1, MW-203B-2, and MW-203B-3 were developed and sampled on June 5, 1997. Newly installed A-zone monitoring wells MW-103A, MW-105A, MW-106A, and MW-107A; newly installed B-zone monitoring wells MW-200B and MW-201B; and newly installed C-zone monitoring well MW-300C were developed and sampled from June 9 through June 16, 1997 (see Figure 1 for locations). • Fluid levels were measured in site monitoring wells on June 17 and July 14, 1997. Table 1, attached, presents a summary of groundwater elevation data for these months. • Cone penetrometer testing (CPT) and push-in polyvinyl chloride piezometer (PIPP) sampling were conducted at plume perimeter locations on Cameron Way, Seward Way, McClellan Way, and Benjamin Holt Drive on July 15 through July 22, 1997 (see Figure 1 for locations). • Pilot borings PB-204131 and PB-204132, and B-zone monitoring well MW-204B were installed at the plume perimeter location in the Thrifty/Payless parking lot at Lincoln Center from July 7 through July 12, 1997 (see Figure 1 for locations). • Pilot borings PB-301C1 and PB-301C2 were installed at the plume perimeter location on the Pacific Avenue frontage road east of Lincoln Center in the vicinity of the Bank of Stockton 1900 Powell Street, 12th Floor, Emeryville, California 94608-1827 • (510) 652-4500 • fax (510) 652-2246 Offices Worldwide
