Monitoring wells will be installed <br /> in the A-, B-, and C-zone aquifers at this location in August 1997. <br /> • The shallow soil-vapor investigation in and around the suspected source areas along selected <br /> sanitary sewer lines at Lincoln Center continued from June 2 through July 25, 1997 and <br /> is ongoing. <br /> • CPT and PIPP sampling were conducted at source area locations and on neighboring private <br /> properties occupied by Bill Park's Chevron, World Savings, S-Mart, and Thrifty/Payless <br /> as part of the Interim Remedial Action (IRA) field scoping activities on June 29 through <br /> July 11, 1997. <br /> • Survey activities were conducted on June 11 and July 16, 1997, to obtain top of casing <br /> elevations for newly installed monitoring wells, and to obtain horizontal locations and ground <br /> surface elevations for the soil-vapor sample locations and CPT/PIPP borings installed during <br /> the source area investigation and the IRA field scoping activities. <br /> Document Submittals <br /> The following documents were completed and issued during the bimonthly period: <br /> • Advance public notices were provided on June 5, 1997 to the Bank of Stockton, located <br /> adjacent to the proposed plume perimeter monitoring well locations on the Pacific Avenue <br /> frontage road. Advance public notices were provided on June 23, 1997 to residents located in <br /> the immediate vicinity of the proposed CPT/PIPP plume perimeter investigation conducted in <br /> the neighborhood upgradient and west of Lincoln Center (see Figure 1 for locations). <br /> Permit applications for field activities, including the plume perimeter and source area <br /> investigations, were submitted to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, <br /> Environmental Health Division, San Joaquin County Department of Public Works, and City of <br /> Stockton Department of Public Works. <br /> • A permit application for temporary waste discharge to the sanitary sewer was submitted to the <br /> City of Stockton Municipal Utilities Department (COS MUD) on April 2, 1997 for discharge <br /> of treated wastewater generated during the investigation. The permit was issued by the COS <br /> MUD on June 5, 1997. However, approval for discharge of treated groundwater into the <br /> sanitary sewer has not yet been received from San Joaquin County. <br /> • The document entitled "Public and Private Well Survey Report, Lincoln Center, Stockton, <br /> California," was issued to all parties on July 21, 1997. <br /> bimonthly-aug97-041I LSRL 2 <br />
