(LFR) is
updating our February 27, 1998 request for access to conduct field activities at Chevron Station
No. 9-6171, located at 6633 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California ("the Subject Property"), to
address changes in the schedule and implementation of the proposed work. As you know, we have
rescheduled field activities so that Chevron's remodeling contractor could complete its work
before LFR's commencement of Phase I IRA field activities. The revised schedule of field
activities will take place in two steps. The first step would include the installation and development
of two groundwater extraction wells. The second step would include the installation of a
groundwater conveyance system and startup of the groundwater extraction and treatment system.
This work will be conducted in accordance with the terms and conditions of the "Lincoln Center
Site Environmental Access Agreement for Chevron Station Property, 6633 Pacific Avenue,
Stockton, California," and as described in the "Work Plan for Environmental Investigation,
Lincoln Center, Stockton, California," dated September 23, 1996, and revised October 15, 1997
("the RI/FS Work Plan") and the "Phase I Interim Remedial Action Detailed Plan, Lincoln
Center, Stockton, California," dated February 27, 1998 ("the Phase I IRA Detailed Plan").
Details of the field activities are presented below.
FIELD ACTIVITIES
Step One: Installation and Development of Extraction Wells
Two groundwater extraction wells will be installed at the locations shown on Figure I.
