LINCOLN CENTER FACT SHEET <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> This fact sheet is the third in a series of fact sheets de- g <br /> signed to provide information on environmental investiga- <br /> tions at Lincoln Center in Stockton,California("the Site"; <br /> Figure 1). It discusses ongoing field investigations and <br /> upcoming Interim Remedial Actions (IRAs) that will be <br /> completed over the next year. These activities are described <br /> in detail in the Work Plan for Environmental Investigation Vacum Canter <br /> ("Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study [RI/FS] <br /> Work Plan")and the Phase I Interim Remedial Action Gi 100 <br /> Detailed Plan("Phase I IRA Detailed Plan").Fact sheets 4O <br /> issued in June 1996 and January 1997 provided information Q� <br /> about site background,previous investigations,planned <br /> field investigations, and future IRAs, and discussed oppor- <br /> tunities for public involvement. <br /> ppor-tunitiesforpublicinvolvement. d <br /> Tetrachloroethene (PCE), a chemical commonly used in dry J 1 M 3 r3 C` <br /> cleaning, and its degradation products, trichloroethene 11 u <br /> (TCE) and 1,2-di beneath <br /> build ngs and p), have been <br /> detected in soils beneath buildings and paved areas at the <br /> Site. These soils are inaccessible to Lincoln Center mer- <br /> chants and the public. Dry cleaning contamination has <br /> also been detected in groundwater beneath the Site. Munici- <br /> pal groundwater supply wells currently in use in the area, <br /> the closest of which is located at Inglewood and Leslie Norman Higgins,et at.,Case No.CIV-S-91-760 DFL <br /> Avenues, have not been affected by such contamination.
