WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS -5-
SETTLING DRY CLEANING DEFENDANTS
LINCOLN VILLAGE CENTER
GROUNDWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
30-Day Daily
Constituents Units Median Maximum
MTBE µ9/1 354 ---
Lead µg/1 54 50
I Based on a maximum Practical Quantitation Limit of 0.5 µg/1. All detectable
concentrations between the Practical Quantitation Limit and the Detection limit
are required to be reported as trace concentrations, and quantified as 0.25 µg/1 in
calculation of 30-day median effluent concentrations.
2 The sum of the concentrations of volatile organic compounds in any single
sample shall not exceed I µg/1.
3 The sum of the concentrations of benzene, ethyl benzene, toluene, and xylene in
any single sample shall not exceed 1 µg/1.
4 Effluent limitation is a 30-day average, instead of a 30-day median.
2. The discharge shall not have a pH less than 6.5 nor greater than 8.5.
3. The average daily discharge flow shall not exceed 430,000 gallons.
C. Solids Disposal:
1. Collected screenings, sludges, and other solids removed from the treated groundwater,
or generated as the result of groundwater treatment, shall be disposed of in a manner
approved by the Executive Officer.
D. Receiving Water Limitations:
Receiving water limitations are site-specific interpretations of water quality objectives from
applicable water quality control plans. As such, they are a required part of this permit.
However, a receiving water condition not in conformance with the limitation is not
necessarily a violation of this Order. The Board may require an investigation to determine
cause and culpability prior to asserting a violation has occurred.
