0
OUR
With regard to the length of the well screens and the vertical gap of 5 feet between the bottom of
the shallow A-zone and the top of the deeper A-zone injection-well screens, it is LFR's experience
in non source-area locations such as the Bank of Stockton, that contaminants follow the most
permeable pathways. Accordingly, we have observed that the injected substrate also follows these
permeable pathways. The highest concentrations of VOCs within the preferred migration pathways
will initially be treated. With time, the lower concentration areas within adjoining sediments will
also be treated as the entire aquifer becomes anaerobic. As such, the fine-grained sediments along
with the more permeable sediments during the implementation of the Phase V IRA will be treated.
An LFR geologist will record a description of the lithology as drilling progresses. The actual
screen depths and dimensions of the gaps between the well screens may vary depending on the
actual lithology.
Comment 4:
Proposed Monitoring Program
As agreed to in the multi-party conference call on June 13, 2007, the proposed monitoring
program will be modified as indicated on the table below. This table is to replace the draft table
on page 25, Section 4.3 of the Detailed Plan. Also, it appears that ferrous iron monitoring should
be added to Table 1, just beneath the total iron entry.
SUMMARY OF MONITORING PROGRAM
Data ERD Upgradient ERD Area Monitoring Downgradient Monitoring
Collection Injection Monitoring Wells Wells
Wells Wells
22 proposed MW-004A Existing wells MW-108A, Existing Wells MW-113A,
injection wells MW-020B MW-205B, and MW0301C MW-114A, MW-207B, and
New wells MW-121A, MW-208B
MW-122A, and MW-214B New wells MW-124A,
MW-123A, and MW-215B
Injection Volumes hourly Semiannually
and Rates
Contaminants and after semiannually baseline, during injection, baseline, quarterly
Daughter Products development month 1 and 2, quarterly
Field after semiannually baseline, during injection, baseline, quarterly
Biogeochemical development, month 1 and 2, quarterly
Parameters quarterly
Laboratory semiannually baseline, during injection, baseline, quarterly
Biogeochemical month 1 and 2, quarterly
Parameters
Organic Substrate baseline, semiannually baseline, during injection, baseline, quarterly
Indicators quarterly months 1 and 2, quarterly
[ft-Fam-RTC-14]m_LPL-PhV-06750(final).do :d 4
