LFR Inc is submitting the attached permit application involving a <br /> Membrane Interface Probe (MIP) Investigation along with a site map showing the proposed MIP <br /> Investigation locations (Figure 1). The subcontractors conducting the work are Vironex <br /> Environmental Field Services (primary subcontractor) and Gregg Drilling and Testing, Inc. <br /> LFR will advance up to 6 soil borings (MIP-22, MIP-23, MIP-24, MIP-25, MIP-26, and MIP-27) <br /> beneath Benjamin Holt Road at the locations shown on Figure 1, attached. The work is currently <br /> scheduled to take place from Monday October 9, 2006 through Thursday August 12, 2006. The <br /> investigation will involve the simultaneous collection of MIP data and electrical conductivity (EC) <br /> or Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) technologies. All borings will be advanced to approximately <br /> 80 feet below ground surface (bgs). Following the collection of the MIP data, a Hydropunch <br /> sampler will be advanced to collect grab groundwater samples at a minimum of five <br /> locations/depth intervals to be determined based on the MIP's ECD results. This project is being <br /> completed with the oversight of the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB). To process <br /> the enclosed well permit application, the following items are enclosed: <br /> • A well permit application sent September 27, 2006; <br /> • A check in the amount of$89 (to be sent) provided to satisfy the well permit application <br /> fees, made payable to the San Joaquin County of Environmental Health Department. <br /> • Figure 1 illustrating the approximate location of the MIP testing. <br /> LFR acknowledges that San Joaquin County will require time for grout inspections services.
