LFR Inc is submitting the attached permit application involving a <br /> Membrane Interface Probe (MIP) Investigation along with a site map showing the proposed MIP <br /> Investigation locations (Figure 1). The subcontractors conducting the work are Vironex <br /> Environmental Field Services and Gregg Drilling and Testing, Inc. <br /> LFR will advance up to 6 soil borings (MIP-15, MIP-16, MIP-17, MIP-18, MIP-19, and MIP-20) <br /> at the approximate locations illustrated on Figure 1. The work is currently scheduled to take place <br /> from Monday August 28, 2006 through Thursday August 31, 2006. The soil borings will utilize <br /> both Membrane Interface Probe (MIP) and Cone Penetration Testing(CPT) technologies. Three <br /> borings will be advanced to approximately 30 feet below ground surface (bgs) and three borings <br /> will be advanced to approximately 60 feet bgs. Grab groundwater samples will be collected from <br /> four of the six boring locations. This project is being completed with the oversight of the Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB). To process the enclosed well permit application, the <br /> following items are enclosed: <br /> • A well permit application sent August 14, 2006; <br /> • A check in the amount of$89 (to be sent) providedtosatisfy the well permit application <br /> fees, made payable to the San Joaquin County of Environmental Health Department. <br /> • Figure I illustrating the approximate location of the MIP testing. <br /> LFR acknowledges that San Joaquin County will charge a 3 hour minimum for grout inspections <br /> services and LFR will provide a grout inspection schedule at a later date. <br /> If you have any questions regarding the enclosed items or processing the permit application, please <br /> feel free to call me at (510) 596-9691.
