LFR Inc.
degradation products must be measured to determine treatment effectiveness. The
monitoring schedule takes into account the possibility that it may take several months
for the system to evolve to reducing conditions.
Existing and proposed groundwater monitoring wells were incorporated into the system
start-up and periodic monitoring program. Monitoring locations are presented in the
following table. The monitoring well network consists of(a) 22 ERD injection wells,
(b) two upgradient monitoring wells, (c) six ERD area monitoring wells, and (d) seven
downgradient area monitoring wells.
Monitoring frequency is presented in the following table. Descriptions of each type of
measurement are presented below.
Summary of Monitoring Program
Data ERD Upgradient ERD Area Monitoring Downgradient Monitoring
Collection Injection Monitoring Wells Wells
Wells Wells
22 proposed MW-004A Existing wells MW-108A, Existing wells MW-113A,
injection wells MW-020B MW-205B, and MW0301C MW-114A, MW-207B, and
New wells MW-121A, MW-208B
MW-122A, and MW-214B New wells MW-124A,
MW-123A, and MW-215B
Injection Volumes hourly semiannually
and Rates
Contaminants and after semiannually baseline, during injection, baseline, quarterly
Daughter Products development months 1 and 2, quarterly
Field after semiannually baseline, during injection, baseline, quarterly
Biogeochemical development, months 1 and 2, quarterly
Parameters quarterly
Laboratory semiannually baseline, during injection, baseline, quarterly
Biogeochemical months 1 and 2, quarterly
Parameters
Organic Substrate baseline, semiannually baseline, during injection, baseline, quarterly
Indicators quarterly months 1 and 2, quarterly
4.3.1 Sample Collection Methods
Groundwater samples will be collected immediately before the injection event. To
optimize representative groundwater sampling, sample collection methods will be
employed that are specific to the ERD Phase V IRA. These sample collection methods
are described below.
wp-PhV_IRASep07-Firal-06750.doc:Itr Page 25
