The plan is
a proposal to extract petroleum hydrocarbon contaminant vapor from the
soil and break down petroleum hydrocarbon contaminants in soil and
groundwater using in-situ air sparging and soil vapor extraction. Volatile
organic hydrocarbon contaminants in the extracted vapor will be removed
either thermally or through granular activated carbon.
The EHD has made a tentative determination that the plan is in compliance
with California Health & Safety Code Chapter 6.7, Section 25299.37 and
California Code of Regulation Corrective Action Requirements, and that the
resultant work will not create significant adverse environmental impacts
which exceed the benefits to be gained from cleanup of the contamination.
The Corrective Action Plan is available for public review at the EHD office,
1868 E. Hazelton Avenue, Stockton during normal working hours, 8:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Final approval of the pilot study work plan is scheduled for May 30,
2014.
Questions should be directed to Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS, at (209)
468-9852 or sent in writing to her at the EHD, 1868 E. Hazelton Avenue,
Stockton, California 95205.
