Pi t <br /> • TPH-g, BTEX, and MTBE concentrations appear in Table 1, while historical oxygenates and <br /> alcohols results are presented in Table 2 Copies of laboratory reports and Chain-of-Custody <br /> documents are included in Appendix B The TPH-g, benzene, and MTBE isoconcentration maps <br /> are presented in Figures 2, 3, and 4. Laboratory results indicate TPH-g and benzene were below <br /> the laboratory detection limits in all samples The only detectable concentration of MTBE was <br /> found in well MW-11 (772 ug/L) <br /> Since the third quarter of 1997, Thrifty has analyzed for the requested oxygenates di-isopropyl ether <br /> (DIPE), ethyl-tert butyl ethyl (ETBE), tert-amyl methyl ether (TAME), and tert-butanol (TBA), and <br /> MTBE by method 8260 The following alcohols were also requested for analysis ethanol and <br /> methanol Due to the oxygenates analysis being inadvertently overlooked during the fourth quarter <br /> event, a fax was sent to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) requesting a <br /> waiver not to resample the site for oxygenates during the fourth quarter 2000 This requested was <br /> granted by Mr Mike Infurna, Jr and a copy of this fax and approval is included in Appendix C <br /> Analysis for oxygenates will resume during the first quarter 2001 <br /> Summary and Recommendations <br /> On December 7, 1999, the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health <br /> Division (PHS/EHD) approved The Corrective Action Plan (CAP), August 18, 1999 for this site <br /> • Thrifty has selected Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) of Stockton, California(a contractor) <br /> to perform the remediation system installation The remedial installation activities include <br /> acquisition of all necessary permits, installation of gas and electrical service lines, delivery and <br /> hookup of the thermal oxidizer and groundwater treatment equipment, and start-up of the remedial <br /> system These activities were initiated dunng the Third Quarter 2000,with system start-up expected <br /> by the end of the Fourth Quarter 2000 <br /> The following activities which have been completed to date are as follows <br /> • Groundwater and vapor wells and the remediation piping are installed <br /> • Remediation compound is installed <br /> • Two 1000 pound carbon canisters are installed in the remediation compound <br /> • Vapor extraction unit is on site awaiting installation <br /> Electrical panel has been installed <br /> • Contracts and check for gas installation has been sent to PG&E, waiting to hear from them <br /> • Groundwater pumps have been purchased and awaiting installation <br /> • Thrifty has received the permit to discharge from the City of Stockton <br /> As soon as PG&E brings the medium pressure gas line to site and connects it to the gas meter, AGE <br /> will connect up the vapor and groundwater remediation system, conduct all necessary startup and <br /> permitting requirements, and bring the system on line From this point, Thrifty technicians will <br /> handle all operations and maintenance (O&M) of the remediation system <br /> Thrifty requests that the oxygenates sampling scheduled for this site be changed from a quarterly <br />
