VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18%
hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative After collection, the samples were properly labeled,
placed m a chilled container and transported under cham-of-custody to McCampbell Analytical Inc
(MAI) m Pacheco, California, and were analyzed for
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Methods 5030/8015rn4
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl. tertiary-butyl ether
(MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 60218020, and
• Oxygenated fuel additives - MTBE,tertiary butyl alcohol(TBA), dr-isopropyl ether(DIPS),
I ethyl tertiary butyl ether(ETBE), and tertiary amyl methyl ether(TAME)in accordance with
EPA Method 8260-Modified
3.0. FINDINGS
• Ground water elevation and flow direction were deducted from field data, hydrocarbon-Impact to
ground water was assessed by laboratory analysis of the ground water samples
3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
The elevation of ground water In each well was calculated by subtracting the depth to ground water
from the surveyed casing elevations (Table 1) Depths to ground water ranged from 75 42 feet to
75 56 feet below the tops of the well casings Ground water elevations at the site ranged from 18 70
feet below mean sea level (MSL) in MW-2 to'18 82 feet below MSL In MW-3 The maximum
ground water gradient was calculated to be 0 002 ft/ft, directed toward the south-southeast
I
32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g was detected In the groundwater samples collected from MW-1 and MW-3 at concentrations
of 430 micrograms per liter(µg/1) and 270 µg/l,\respectively
Benzene was detected inound water samples collected from MW-1 and M3 at concentrations
€n' P W
of 0 67 µg/1 and 3 3 µg/1, respectively, toluene was detected in the same samples at concentrations
iof 2 9 4g/l and 1 2 µg/l, respectively, ethylbenzene was detected in the samples from MW-1 and
. MW-3 at concentrations of 9 4 µg/1 and 5 3 µg/,1,respectively, and total xylenes were detected In the
Advanced GeoEnvlronmental,Inc
