Hwy 99 E. Frontage Rd.
Stockton CA 95212
San Joaquin County, Environmental Health Department(SJC/EHD) has reviewed the status of the
above referenced contaminated underground storage tank (UST) site and has the following
comments.
An environmental site investigation was conducted at this site in October 1999. Results of
laboratory analysis of soil and groundwater samples collected during the investigation were positive
for petroleum hydrocarbons constituents in both the soil and groundwater. SJC/EHD notified you in
correspondence dated January 31, 2000 that your site had been assigned to the SJC/EHD Local
Oversight Program for oversight of assessment and clean up activities at contaminated UST sites.
You were directed to submit a work plan and begin a site investigation to determine the lateral and
vertical definition of the contamination in both soil and groundwater.
On June 25, 2000 a site investigation began with the installation of one groundwater monitoring
well (MW-1). The well was subsequently developed and sampled on July 3, 2000. Results of the
groundwater analysis were non-detect for all constituents analyzed for. In correspondence dated
October 31, 2000, SJC/EHD notified you that in order to be able to review this site for possible
closure another groundwater monitoring and sampling event had to be conducted, and that both
MW-1 and the onsite domestic well had to be sampled. This event never occurred.
SJC/EHD again directs that a groundwater monitoring and sampling event be conducted at this
site, and that it includes sampling of the onsite domestic well. Analysis for 1,2-dichloroethane and
ethylene dibromide must be included in the groundwater analytical suite. The deadline for this
work to be completed is September 28, 2007. A Report of Findings must be submitted to SJC/EHD
within 60 days following completion of the fieldwork.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at(209)468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Mar9 9 are a orio REH
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Program Coordinator Unit IV
cc: James Barton, CVRWQCB
Bob Marty, AGE
0
