0 9
Schedule 40 PVC casing will be used for this well installation. This casing
will be 2-inches in outside diameter. The casing will be joined using flush
thread joints with o-rings. Fifteen feet of well intake intervals will be
constructed by placing 10 feet piece of Schedule 40 PVC 0.01-inch machine
slotted screen to the desired depth and completing a sand envelope
consisting of 10 X 20 silica sand opposite the well screen and 2.5 feet above
and below the well screen. The sand pack and seals will be placed using a
surface free fall method. This design will meet the San Joaquin County
and California Requirements on monitoring well design and allow for
long-term ground water monitoring use. The proposed well design is
provided in Attachment No. 1.
Well caps and security casings will consist of PVC cap with an above
grade installation consisting of a steel four inch casings that has a lockable
lid. Monitoring wells will be surveyed by a licensed surveyor.
3.0 MONITORING WELL DEVELOPMENT AND SAMPLING
3.1 Task 2—Well Development and Initial Sampling Event
Upon completion of the three monitoring wells, the ground water
monitoring well intakes will be developed using a submersible pump or
bailer after a 12 hour wait period. Stabilization will be determined based
on turbidity and stabilization of the field parameters pl- conductivity and
temperature. A minimum of three well casing volumes will be removed
for development. The casing has an estimated volume of 0.16 gallons per
foot.
Ground Water Sample Collection
Ground Water Monitoring will begin upon the completion of well
development and water level recovered.
