Hwy. 99 E. Frontage Road
Stockton CA 95215
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(SJC/EHD) has reviewed Site
Assessment Work Plan Addendum (Addendum) dated December 18, 2007, submitted on
your behalf by Arcadis BBL (Arcadis) and has the following comments.
Arcadis proposes in the Addendum to investigate the vertical extent of the groundwater
contamination at this site with the collection of soil and a grab groundwater sample from
one soil boring and a temporary well. The boring will be advanced using sonic drilling
technology. Arcadis states that the location for this boring will be determined following the
installation of shallow groundwater monitoring wells and determination of groundwater
flow direction, and whether or not they can locate the former underground storage tank
(UST) pit area. Proposed total depth of the boring is 150 feet below surface grade; depth
interval for collection of the groundwater sample will be determined in the field.
SJC/EHD approves the proposed scope of work, noting that deep groundwater monitoring
wells may still be required and the vertical extent of the contamination near well MW-1
and boring P-3 must be defined.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS 'Nuel C.
