Taber <br /> L Since 9854 <br /> 1P2/399/245-4 <br /> 4.2 MEDICAL SURVEILLANCE <br /> LConsistent with 8 CCF 5192, all Taber Consultants personnel engaged in <br /> "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response" (HAZWOPER) 30 days or more a <br /> year are required to have had a baseline or update physical examination within the last <br /> L year. <br /> As a follow-up to a possible exposure above established exposure limits, the <br /> Lemployee is entitled and encouraged to seek medical attention. Depending upon the type <br /> of chemical, its concentration, and the exposure duration, it may be critical to obtain <br /> medical attention within 24-48 hours of the exposure. At a minimum, personnel exposed <br /> L on-site must report that exposure immediately to the SSO or their supervisor. <br /> 4.3 SITE SAFETY MEETINGS <br /> Site safety meetings will be conducted by the SSO before field personnel begin <br /> work, when there are modifications to the Health and Safety Plan, and when additional <br /> personnel begin fieldwork. Meetings are to be attended by personnel involved in field <br /> activities. The topics to be discussed include the following. <br /> L • description of the assigned tasks and their potential hazards; <br /> • coordination of site activities; <br /> Lphysical and health hazards; <br /> • identification of methods and precautions to prevent injuries; <br /> • emergency planning, <br /> • modifications to the H&S Plan; <br /> Linput from field personnel on health and safety issues pertaining to site <br /> activities. <br /> LThe attendees signatures acknowledging receipt and understanding of the H&S <br /> Plan and their agreement to comply will be collected at the first safety meeting. The <br /> meeting information will be recorded on the Safety Meeting Documentation forms, which <br /> will be retained in project files. <br /> L5.0 PHYSICAL AND HEALTH HAZARDS <br /> The following section details the potential safety and health hazards which may be <br /> Lencountered during the excavation (mechanical or hand digging) and sampling of <br /> subsurface soils. <br /> L <br /> f 3 <br />
