The following report
summarizes site activities conducted during due diligence site assessment of the Stockton
Store 5449 Store 5731, located at 7647 Pacific Ave., Stockton, California. The site
location is shown on Figure 1. A total of six soil borings were advanced using a
GeoprobeTm rig.
Field Procedures
ULS Services Corp. was contracted to use geophysical methods to conduct utility and
piping clearance prior to initiating any intrusive activities. Following utility clearance in
the areas of assessment the potential boring locations and any identified obstructions
were marked with paint. Boring locations were selected in order to obtain representative
subsurface samples across the site. On April 13, 2004, a total of 6 soil borings were
advanced. Figure 2 depicts the locations of the installed borings.
The first five feet of each boring were hand augered to further clear the area for utilities
or subsurface obstructions. Three borings were advanced to depths of 25 feet in the
vicinity of the underground storage tanks.(USTs) (B1 through B3) and three borings were .
advanced to 10 feet in the vicinity of the three dispensers and dispenser lines using
GeoprobeT" (135, B6, B7). Please note that Boring B4 was not installed due to safety
concerns. Soil samples were collected at five foot intervals and field screened for the
presence of hydrocarbons using a portable hydrocarbon vapor analyzer. Groundwater
was not encountered at this site.
1
