Field Observations
The subsurface geology at this site was primarily composed of sand, silt and silty clay.
Groundwater was not encountered although the soil was moist. Boring logs indicating
subsurface lithology and boring details are included as an attachment to this report.
An organic vapor analyzer (OVA) was used to conduct field screening for head space
vapor concentrations and this information was recorded on boring logs. This information
was used to select the samples with the greatest suspected concentrations for laboratory
analysis. OVA concentrations ranged from 0 to 3.8 parts per million (ppm). No gasoline
odor was detected in any borings. An active remediation system was installed on site,
Laboratory Procedures and Results
A total of 3 soil samples were submitted to a California-certified enviraownental
laboratory for analysis. Select soil samples were analyzed using EPA Method 82606 for
total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene,
xylenes (BTEX), and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) and oxygenates. The samples
were also analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd) using EPA Method
8015M. If TPHd was present in any of the samples, then the samples were also analyzed
for polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) using EPA Method 8310. Groundwater
samples were not collected at this site. All samples were stored in a cooler with ice and
transported under chain of custody protocol.
Soil samples were analyzed from borings 82, B3, and 85. The results of this sampling
are included in Table 1 along with laboratory detection limits when non-detectable results
were obtained. Laboratory reports, QA/QC data, and chain of custody documentation are
attached to this report
All of the soil borings analyzed showed non-detectable results for TPHg, TPHd, BTEX,
MTBE,and oxygenates.
Conclusions and Findings ,
Based on the soil analytical data collected, subsurface soils do not contain concentrations
of hydrocarbons that exceed the State of California or local regulatory agency action
guidelines.
5`Ot`fAt.ENS
P
Sincerely,

acnes eegan,Civil CNI1.
FC
2
