Entrained Ground Water Collection and Disposal.
Due to high moisture content, especially during rainy days, extracted soil vapor carries ground
water droplets which are separated from the soil gas in the knockout pot. Currently, separated
groundwater is transferred automatically to 55-gallon drums. It has been requested that a '
secondary container to the 55-gallon drum be installed to prevent overflow, or a larger collection
tank installed, assuring that no overflow will take place between the weekly site visit by a
technician.
Wards will install a 500-gallon poly tank for collection of ground water transferred from the
knockout pot. This volume will be sufficient for at least two weeks of continuous operatior of the
remediation system. The effluent contained in the tank will be removed, manifested and preperly
handled.
2. Grouting Sump Bottoms.
The remediation well sumps are covered with gravel. To prevent infiltration of any produci s into
the soil, the bottom of the sumps must be grouted.
As requested, the bottom of the sumps will be grouted.
PLANNING,ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSES AND
HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES MANAGEMENT AND REMEDIATION
