• i
Montgomery Wards page 2
5400 Pacific Ave., Stockton.
Bio-remediation rather than destroying them. Recent changes in groundwater
monitoring requirements have been issued by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality
Control Board (CVRWQCB), and enclosed for your use is the policy adopted by PHS-
EHD to comply with the requirements. Please modify your sampling procedures to
include EPA Method 8260 for groundwater analysis for all wells , for all quarters at
this site. Please include sampling any vapor extraction well that contains groundwater
also. Check with the Department of Health Services certified laboratory you are
currently utilizing and ensure that the detection limit for the five to seven oxygenates is
not greater than 5.0 ug/I (parts per billion, "ppb"). The sampling for oxygenates shall
begin with the very next quarterly sampling event and continue on a quarterly basis.
Please have your consultant call Mr. Infurna and schedule the field inspection with at
least forty-eight (48) working hours notice.
Please adjust your sampling schedule to ensure that the quarterly monitoring reports are
submitted to PHS-EHD before the next quarterly sampling event.
Your revised CAP should be updated to include an evaluation of groundwater
remedial efforts, costs for all methods, implementation time schedules, and
should be submitted to PHS-EHD by April 13, 1998.
Please contact Michael Infurna, Senior REHS, at (209) 468-3454 if you have any
questions, wish to schedule a field inspection, or if you would like to discuss the site.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
—
Michael J.
