East Weber Avenue, Third Floor • Stockton, CA 952o2 9< ="o'p°' <br /> Zo9/?68-3a.2o <br /> SEP 25X W. <br /> To Wham It May Concern <br /> ANALYSIS REQUIRED FOR OXYGENATE COMPOUNDS <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Serfices, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) is under <br /> Local Oversight Program (LOP) contract with the California State Water Resources Control <br /> Board (SWRCS) to provide oversight far the investigation and cleanup of unauthorized releases <br /> from underground storage tanks. This contract includes a provision for technical support by the <br /> California Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCS). <br /> PHS/EHD has recently received a letter from the CVRWQCS that provides guidance an how to <br /> analyze for the oxygenated compounds in gasoline until a "definitive protecor can be <br /> established. Based an this letter, PHSiEHD is directing you to analyze samples from all of <br /> your monitoring wells for Ternary Butyl Alcohol (TBA), ,Methyl Tertiary Butyi Ether(MSE), Di- <br /> isopropyl ether (DIPS), Ethyl Tertiary Butyl Ether(E T 3E) and Ternary Amyi Methyl Ether <br /> (TAME) by EPA method 8260. PHS/EHD will require analysis of samples for Methanol and <br /> Ethanol where there is reason to believe that these compounds were stared in the underground <br /> tank(s). <br /> PHS/E1110 requires quarterly sampling of all wells where the presence of oxygenates is <br /> confirmed by EPA method 8260_ Modification of this required sampling such as number of wells <br /> sampled, sampling frequency and method of analysis may be gmnted only after initial sample <br /> results are reviewed by PHS/EHO.
