ERI 227904.1.01 Former Unocal Service Station 5098, Stockton, California September 11, 1998
waits until November td,include the aquifer evaluation in the scope of work for the Work Plan, the
well will not be pumping. It is anticipated that the active pumping of the well will be discontinued in
October 1998 and pumping will not resume until May 1999. As indicated in the telephone
discussion, this data is crucial and valuable information and is pertinent as well as imperative to be
collected at this time to allow a complete understanding of the hydrogeology in the area. The need to
include Montgomery Wards' wells in the hydrogeologic investigation is interpreted by ERI to be a
key factor. Therefore, ERI requests that the County reconsider the evaluation of the work plan for
approval. The hydrogeologic investigation was postponed (originally scheduled for the week of
August 24, 1998) and has been rescheduled for the week of September 21, 1998. At the request of
Unocal, ERI intends to implement the work during this period with the use of Montgomery Wards'
wells (with County approval) or utilizing only Unocal wells. Please call ERI to discuss the County's
approval of the previously submitted work plan.
Please call either of the undersigned at (415) 382-9105 with any questions.
Sincerely,
Environmental Resolutions, Inc.
Mark S.
