r
f.
- Minor concentrations of voes were detected in soil
samples collected beneath the sewer line.
Moderate concentrations of TPH, toluene, ethylbenzene and
xylenes were detected in only one ofthe12 soil samples
(PL-7) collected from beneath the product
Low
levels of toluene ranging from 0.07 to 0.9E ppm also were
s , detected in samples PL-1 and PL-6.
Elevated concentrations of TPH ranging from 610 to 5,400
ppm were detected in 7 of 10 samples obtained from boring
B-6. The TPH concentration in the sample obtained from
boring B-6 at 50' was 7.3 ppm. At the present time, we
cannot be conclusive as to the source(s) of the
contamination.
The extent of the soil contamination at the proximity of
borings B-6 and PL-7 have not been defined.
Further characterization is required to determine the
extent of soil contamination and to define the source(s)
of the contamination.
7.0 PROPOSED WORK
7.1 PRODUCT LINES
In order to better determine the site lithology as well as
the extent of contamination encountered in one sample (PL--7)
obtained from beneath the product lines associated with the
former [SSTs, EAI proposes to drill and sample two soil borings
(8--9 and B-10) as approximately shown on Figure 4. The proposed
locations of the borings are based on the results of the
previous Site investigations. The termination depth of each
boring is 30 feet bgs.
7.2 SEWER LI21E
Based on the "solvent" odors encountered during the drilling
and sampling of boring B-6, and the results of the sampling
associated with the sewer lines, EAI proposes to drill and
sample two borings (B-7 and B-8) as approximately shown on
Figure 4 to better define the extent and possible source(s) of
contamination near boring 5-6. The termination depth of each
boring is 30 feet bgs.
7.3 DRILLING ANSI SOIL SAMPLING
1 The borings will be drilled using continuous flight hallow
i stem augers. soil samples will be obtained from each boring
Project No. 1232
f 1-.iVV1li0:ii11 jV7AL AUNT,INC.
t-.m
