The RWQCB issued a two-
page letter on November 5, 1997 indicating that no further action is required at the Cargill site, and that the
three existing monitoring wells may be decommissioned.
A monitoring well decommissioning work plan is enclosed for your consideration. A copy has been sent
to Mike Infurna with the necessary permit application. Woodward Drilling has been contracted to extract
the old casings, overbore, and grout the three shallow monitoring wells. We would like to do the work on
about January 6, 1998, if the plan and schedule are acceptable.
Please call if you have any questions or directives.
Sincerely,
SIERRA-PACIFIC GROUNDWATER CONSULTANTS, INC.
John.Stephen aCEG-1133
Senior Engineering Geologist
JSR/EDC/jb
Enclosure
C.
