Demolition activities involving the use
of cutting torches, welders, cranes, and various pieces of specialized equipment, require that the
existing health and safety plan be modified to address such activities.
Sierra-Pacific will work with Cargill management and the contractor to ensure that the contractor's
H&S plan is consistent with Sierra-Pacific's revised plan. Items that must be addressed in the
contractor's site H&S plan include:
• The contractor is required to comply with all applicable OSHA and County regulations,
~ including OSHA rules concerning the contractor's corporate health and safety program and
posting. The contractor will demonstrate to Cargill that all necessary documentation and
safety features are available at the site prior to initiating work. In addition to considering
safety issues related to major pieces of equipment and dangerous procedures, the contractor
must consider safety procedures to avoid simple trips and falls, with consideration for debris,
..r
broken glass, boards with nails, and other debris which may litter the floor and crawl spaces
of the office building and tank farm.
Sierra-Pacific Groundwater Consultants, Inc. 8
~
