WORK PLAN FOR INSTALLATION OF <br /> MONITORING WELLS (CW-01, CW-02, AND CW-03) <br /> CARGILL, INC. PORT ROAD NO. 8 FACILITY <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> SIERRA-PACIFIC PROJECT NO. 95-128.04 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Sierra-Pacific Groundwater Consultants, Inc. (Sierra-Pacific) has been requested to install three <br /> shallow monitoring wells at Port Road No. 8, Stockton, California on behalf of Cargill, Inc. <br /> (Cargill). The Port Road No. 8 property is owned by the Port of Stockton (Port) and is <br /> currently leased to Cargill's Molasses Liquid Products Division (Figures 1 and 2). <br /> 2.0 PURPOSE OF MONITORING WELLS <br /> Three monitoring wells will be installed to gather hydrologic information which can be used to <br /> determine the direction of ground-water flow and to characterize possible feed product <br /> concentrations in the uppermost saturated zone. <br /> 3.0 SCOPE OF PROPOSED WORK <br /> A State-licensed drilling contractor (C-57) will be contracted to install three new wells at the <br /> site (Figure 3). Sierra-Pacific will oversee the well installation, well development, and will <br /> perform periodic ground water monitoring. Based on information developed during previous <br /> soil investigations, the well boring will be advanced to 20 feet below ground surface (bgs). Well <br /> screen will be placed over a 15-foot interval, from 5.0 to 20.0 feet bgs. Contract workers will <br /> have current 40-hour OSHA Hazardous Waste training certificates. <br /> 3.1 Field Preparations <br /> Field preparations will include a pre-construction meeting at the site with Sierra-Pacific <br /> personnel and the drilling contractor, and communication with various interested parties, <br /> including: Cargill, Port of Stockton, and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> Sierra-Pacific Groundwater Consultants, Inc. 1 <br />
