Water will be,available on-site for dust suppression.
9.4 Heat Stress
Heat stress is associated with exposure to high temperatures, wearing protective clothing, and
physical exertion. Temperatures at the site can reach 100°F or higher during summer months.
Since the project work is scheduled during late February, temperatures are anticipated to be
Lmoderate: 65 - 70° F.
L However, drinking water is planned to be available on-site and appropriate breaks shall be
taken if temperature and levels of personal protection so dictate. Site workers are from the
L Central Valley area and are expected to be acclimatized to the area. Symptoms and first-aid
for heat stress are given in Section 6.0. Based upon previous experience and the types of work
to be performed at this site, it is anticipated that heat stress should be a major concern and
precautions must be taken. Should weather become unseasonably warm, the SSO should
measure the air temperatures and institute appropriate work-rest cycles.
Sierra-Pacific Groundwater Consultants, Inc. 23
I
