1 <br /> ' 2 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> ' According to the Phase II Environmental Site Assessment conducted by WGR Southwest, Inc. <br /> (WGR, 2008) the Site is approximately 13.1 acres and is located within the East Complex of the <br /> Port of Stockton in San Joaquin County, California. The Site is northeast of the intersection of <br /> ' Navy Drive and the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. This east-west trending railroad is <br /> on top of a raised levee approximately 100 ft south of the Site (WGR, 2008). The South Ditch is <br /> located between the south edge of the site and the railroad line. This South Ditch directs storm <br /> ' water from the entire Port Complex to a retention pond located west of the Site, across Navy <br /> Drive. <br /> tFencing surrounds the Site and defines the irregularly shaped property boundary. The office <br /> building (including a warehouse) and scale are located at the northwest portion of the Site near <br /> the entrance. The former structures and features present on-Site during operation included: a <br /> ' rail scale located on the rail line bisecting the eastern portion of the Site; an oil storage area, an <br /> equipment wash down area and a maintenance shop located in the center of the Site; a <br /> ' welding shop located at the southwest corner of the Site; and a PG&E owned electrical <br /> substation located along the southern property boundary. Several stockpiles of scrap material <br /> were located throughout the Site consisting of various types of steel, unprepared iron, motor <br /> ' blocks, light iron/tin, or bundles of processed metal. <br /> The present configuration of the Site and locations of the features are shown on Figure 2. <br /> 1 <br /> 2 M/LLER BROOKS <br /> 1 <br />
