• KLEINFELDER
If conditions in the borehole allow, it is recommended that the sand pack be surged prior to
installing the bentonite seal.
If conditions allow in the borehole the sand pack will be surged to settle the pack prior to the
installation of the bentonite seal in the new well in accordance with the SJC/EHD Well Standards
13.10.8 recommendation.
If a slip cap is used on the bottom of the well casing, it must be secured with stainless steel
screws.
As detailed in the monitoring well construction diagram (Plate 3) included in the Kleinfelder
workplan, the bottom cap is threaded onto the bottom of the screened section of the monitoring
well. During the construction of the monitoring wells a slip cap is not included within the
construction parameters, but if a slip cap is ever used it will be secured by stainless steel screws.
The wellhead must be set in concrete to prevent damage to the wellhead and surface water
infiltration.
As detailed in the monitoring well installation workplan monitoring well construction diagram,
the wellhead will be set in concrete to a depth of approximately 1-foot beneath the ground
surface.
At your direction, this addendum will be forwarded to RWQCB for approval. It is due to the
RWQCB by no later than June 20, 2004.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Respectfully submitted,
KLEINFELDER, INC.
eph les DRgi.G., REA I
io eeologistSesntaffGoolost
JZ:ss
cc: Mr. Tim O'Brien
Regional Water Quality Control Board
11020 Sun Center Drive
Rancho Cordova, CA 95670
C20-4535-01.REP/ST04L325 Page 2 oft
Copyright 2004,Kleinfelder,Inc.
