PHS/EHD has the following comments for your consideration.
Groundwater contamination continues to be evidenced in all monitoring wells, MW2 - MW7. In fact,
groundwater contamination detected in MW2 appears to be increasing in concentrations more so than the
other monitoring wells. PHS/EHD is concerned that the contamination evidenced in MW2 may be originating
from a source other than the former underground storage tanks which were removed in 1986.
Upon review of documents pertaining to the currently operating storage tanks, installed in 1987,it was noted
that the currently operating underground storage tanks are out of compliance with the Underground Storage
Tanks Regulations,California Code of Regulations Title 23,Chapter 16. The PHS/EHD underground storage
tank inspector for this site is Pam Violett and she can be reached at (209) 468-0335.
In order to further characterize the site and to evaluate alternative sources of contamination, please submit
by July 1, 1994 a work plan to investigate the pump islands and tank pit areas.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Mary Meays at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Mary Meays, Senior REHS Diane M. inson, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor
MM/6633PAC
cc: CVRWQCB cc: Pam Violett, Senior REHS
Elizabeth Thayer PHS/EHD
cc: Lincoln Properties
Wilbur H.
