 11
SIERRA
The steam-cleaning rinseate, and well development and purge water will be removed from
the site for disposal at the Chevron Richmond Refinery
4. SURVEYING AND GROUND WATER GRADIENT
The top of casing elevation for the new well (MW-6) will be surveyed to within O 01 foot by
Ron Miller, Professional Engineer #15816 prior to the September 9, 1992 quarterly monitoring
event Water level measurements will be collected from all site wells on September 9, 1992 Water
level data and ground water flow direction and gradient will be documented in the quarterly
monitoring report Historically, the groundwater flow direction beneath the site has been easterly
Historic water level measurements, top of casing elevations, and ground water elevations are
shown in Table 5 (Appendix B)
5. SOIL AND GROUND WATER ANALYSES
Field observations, OVM readings and ground water depth were used to select soil samples
for analyses Selected soil samples from the new well were analyzed for TPPH(G) by EPA Method
8015/5030 and BTEX by EPA Method 8020 Hydrocarbons as TPPH(G) or BTEX compounds were
not detected in any of the soil samples analyzed Groundwater samples Will be collected from all
site wells during the third quarter sampling event scheduled for September 9, 1992
Analytic results for soil and historic ground water results are shown in Tables 1 through
4 (Appendix B) Chain of custody documents and laboratory analytic reports are included as
Appendix E SES is not responsible for laboratory omissions or errors
6. WELL ABANDONMENT
Monitoring well MW-1 was abandoned July 31, 1992 This well was abandoned because
ground water elevations at the site had been below the screened interval of the well since at least
.
