r
SIERRA
Hydrocarbons as gasoline, BTEX, EDB and Pb were not detected In the ground water
samples from wells MW-2,MW-3,MW-4 and MW-S: TCG.•and metals(NI.Cd.'Cr and Zn)were not
detected In the ground water sample from well MW-5. The groune ;nater sample ffom well MW-5
contained 7 ppb I,1-dichloroethane,which =ceeds the DHS RAI,of 5 ppb. No other VOCs were
detected in the ground water sample from well MW-5. Total coliforrnsvas detected al 240
MPH/100rn1 in:he ground water sample from welt MW-4,Iocated within 50 ft of a sanitary sewer
line;
i
6-CONCLUSIONS
The site is underlain by alluvial sediments consisting of clay, silt and sand. The ground
water elevation in the wells has dropped approximately 10 ft since 1987 when the first well was
installed at the site. The round water flow direction beneath the site Is apparently PAarer,Uy to the
j - southeast;however the gradient is flat (0.001 ft/fi) and additional well points maybe needed to
' verify the flow.direction.
Hydrocarbons were not detected in soil samples from any of the soil borings. TPPH,BTEC,
EDS and total lead were not deteettd In ground water samples from monitoring wells MW-2,MW-
i
3, MW-4 and MW-5. TOG and metals were not detected In the ground water sample from well
MW-5. However,the ground water sample from well MW-5 eontaintd 7 ppb 1,1-dichloroethane,
which exceeds the DHS RAL of 5 ppb.
a There are two other potential sources of volatile organic compounds, the dry cleaners
located in the Lincoln Center -rtY
ro r
P P (northwest of the site)and the dry cleaners southwest of
' the site.
j Thirty water wells were Identified within one-half mile of the site. Two of the wells are
!" potentfally downgradient of the site;however both wells are more than one-quarter mile from the
({ site. There are eight monitoring wells on properties directly north, south, and west of the Chevron
site. These wells were apparently installed to investigate a TCE spill on the adjacent Lincoln
Center property. In addition, three San Joaquin County wells are located west and northwest of
{ the Chevron site.
Page 8
a
