OLYMPIAN OIL COMPAN
260 MICHELE COURT • SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,CALIFORNIA 94080-6297 -• Geor e "Rusty" Firenze
(415)873-8200 • FAX(415)871-2264 qas I` E 6' 1 . 2 g Vice ce President
March 19, 1996 Operations
Ms. Mary Meays
Senior RENS, Site Mitigation Unit
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor
Stockton, California 95201-0388
RE: Jimco Truck Plaza, 22502 South Highway 99
Ripon, California
APN 261-020-12
Dear Ms. Meays:
This is in response to your letter of February 29, 1996,.regarding,the.above-referenced site.
We offer some clarifications and-additional comments to the issues you raised relating to access
to Olympian property and placing the subject property on a contaminated site list.
First, we have never denied Ripon Farm Service ("RFS") access to Olympian property.
However, from the very beginning we informed RSF that if it wanted to do any investigation on
our property, they would need to confirm that this was the only direction left to investigate. This
has never been confirmed to date.
Second,-a-co:sultaint report uated NovcmhPr 8, 1995, for RFS, prepared-by Advance-Geo-
Environmental, Inc. ("AGE") shows the addition of two wells B-12 and B-13. These wells
appear very close to the Jimco property line, but AGE chose such a large scale for its map, it is
very difficult to determine if these wells are within ten feet or forty feet of the property line. We
request proper identification and location of these wells.
Third, AGE, in a letter dated November 8, 1995, to John Trump, our attorney, also stated that it
was presently preparing a workplan for the installation.of probing at the site and would transmit a
copy to Jimco property representatives. We were waiting to evaluate AGE's workplan before
giving permission for AGE access to our property. However, this workplan has never been
received.by myself, our attorney or by Jimco., Olympian has.no intention of allowing access to
he requested information is provided. Apparently you are holding Olympian
its property until t q p pp
