AND HWY. 99
RIPON, CALIFORNIA
#9673
Dear Mr. Ward,
The existing truck stop facility, encompassing approximately
11. 4 acres, consists of a truck service/truck wash building, a
two StOr'17 warehouse, of-ices, a two StOry motel/store, a restaur-
ant and ten fueling pump islands.
; ." The sources of the present hazardous waste discharges on the site
are:
1) Oil drips from trucks fueling at the pump islands or
parked in the yard.
2) Minor petroleum swills occurring during the fueling of
the trucks at the pump islands.
3 ) Oil and grease being washed off the vehicles during
the truck washing operation.
The aggregate total of fueling spills, oil and grease drippings
and washdown has been estimated by Hiram Duncan, General
Manager, to be a maximum of 50 gallons within a twenty-four hour
period. This quantity represents an abnormal amount of
spillage, not an average spillage.
In accordance with your requirements outlined in your letter and
Inspection Report, dated March 8 , 1985, we are submitting the
enclosed completed Facilitv Permit/Waste Discharge application;
and tdo prints of Drawings number one and two, showing an oil
and grease interceptor system proposed for this facility.
-This-' system is designed Co contain spill :gtianU ties much greater
than 50 gallons, but is primarily designed to separate-:oil and
grease from the daily volume of water used in the amount of
approximately 22, 000 gallons. The great majority of the water is "-
used for truck washdown, and daily pump island slab washdown.
