' Quarterly Report - First Quarter 2002 <br /> JIMCO TRUCK PLAZA <br />' 22502 South Highway 99, Ripon, California <br />' 10 INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Rusty Firenze of Olympian Oil Company,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc <br />' (AGE)has prepared this quarterly report for the Jimco Truck Plaza,located at 22502 South Highway <br /> 99,Ripon, California(the site) The scope of work included advancement of one soil probe boring, <br />' quarterly ground water monitoring and preparation of this report The location of the site and the <br /> immediately surrounding area are illustrated on Figure 1, structures and boring and monitoring well <br /> locations on the site are illustrated on Figure 2 <br />' This report has been prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the Central Valley <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for the subsurface investigation of <br />' underground storage tank (UST) sites Background information, including details of previous site <br /> assessment work, was presented in AGE's report titled Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation <br /> Report (PIER), dated 13 December 1999 <br /> 20 PROCEDURES <br /> Field work was conducted in accordance with guidelines established by the CVRWQCB for the <br /> investigation of UST sites and the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) <br />' for sampling of ground water monitoring wells <br />' 21 ADVANCEMENT OF SOIL PROBE BORING <br />' On 31 January 2002,one soil probe boring(B 17)was advanced in the former UST excavation under <br /> EHD oversight The probe boring was advanced to a total depth of 40 feet below surface grade(bsg) <br /> utilizing a van-mounted Geoprobe 5400 direct-push probing unit equipped with 1 25-inch diameter <br />' probing rods, the probing unit advances soil probe borings using a hydraulic hammer to dnve soil <br /> and ground water sampling tools to specified depths <br /> 2 1 1 Soil Sample Collection <br />' Discrete soil samples were collected using the Geoprobe push-driven 2-inch diameter soil sampler <br /> fitted with four six-inch long brass sleeves at 5-foot intervals,beginning at 20 feet bsg Soil samples <br /> were preserved by covering both ends of the second brass sleeve with Teflon sheets, capping and <br />' sealing with tape Each preserved sample sleeve was labeled with soil boring location, depth, time, <br /> date and sampler's initials and was stored in a chilled container under ice <br /> 1 <br />
