Site Assessment Work Plan <br /> OLYMPIAN-Jimco Truck Plaza <br /> ' 22502 South Highway 99, Ripon, California <br /> ' 1.0. 'INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr. Rusty Firenze of Olympian Oil,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has <br /> ' prepared the enclosed Site Assessment Work Plan for the property located at 22502 South Highway <br /> 99 in Ripon, California. The proposed scope of work includes the advancement of up to fifteen soil <br /> probe borings using direct push technology, the installation of up to five ground water monitoring <br /> wells, the collection of soil and ground water samples and analysis of selected samples. Figure 1 <br /> shows the general location of the site. Figure 2 shows details of the site and location of the UST <br /> facility. <br /> This Work Plan has been.prepared as required by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services'- <br /> Environmental <br /> ervices- <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD)by letter dated 23 January 1998. However, preparation <br /> of the work plan was delayed awaiting removal and upgrade of the fueling facility at the site. This <br /> work plan is prepared in accordance with PHS-EHD and Central Valley Regional Water Quality <br /> ' Control Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tanks (UST) <br /> sites. <br /> The purpose of this additional site assessment is to evaluate the lateral and vertical extent of . <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon impacts to soil and ground water at the site as the result of USTs on the <br /> property. This Work Plan provides an outline of the scope of work and description of the field <br /> procedures for the soil and ground water assessment activities. <br /> ' 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> The property is located in a rural/commercial portion of San Joaquin County near the City of Ripon. <br /> The site has been occupied by the Jimco Truck Stop for approximately 30 years. A restaurant, truck <br /> wash, repair facility, tire shop and several administrative offices are located on the property. The <br /> 1 present fueling facility consists of nine fuel islands,one UST and several above-ground storage tanks <br /> (ASTs). <br /> 2.1. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> ' Three USTs and associated product distribution system were removed from the site between July <br /> and September,1998.
