• i
Abel Haines, P.E. -2- 21 August 1990
Finally, we have reviewed your letter (and attached technical report) of 16
January 1990 regarding the possible construction of a production well , SHAD 6,
in the vicinity of the North Balloon Area. Apparently this well was being
considered as an interim water source for the CoGen facility until the North
Balloon Area's remedial system becomes operable. Please notify us regarding the
current status of this well . The technical report indicates the installation and
operation of this well could exacerbate the ground water contamination in this
area. We, therefore, do not concur with the construction or use of this well and
recommend that you purchase water from an existing local water purveyor instead
to augment the South Balloon effluent on an interim basis.
If you have any questions, please call John Tomko at (916) 455-5712 or Antonia
Vorster at (916) 361-5670.
ANTONI K. tit
J.
