As shown on Figure 2-8 of the Pump Test
report, there is ground water contamination in the location where
the gap would exist. in addition, extraction wells should extend
approximately 500 feet farther to the southeast of the proposed
extraction well EW17 . Extraction wells are needed in this area
in order to capture ground water contamination depicted on Figure
2-8 of the Pump Test report.
Comment 4 :
TSSU questions that the proposed extraction wells could sustain a
pumping rate of 20 gallons per minute as was used in the ground
water model to choose the well spacing in the Withdrawal
Evaluation report. During the 96 hour pumping test perform 'd in
February 1989, there was over 15 feet of drawdown in the existing
extraction well while pumping at 11 gallons per minute. The
proposed extraction wells would be designed very similarly to the
existing extraction well. Thus, TSSU suspects that the proposed
extraction wells may have excessive drawdown and be unable to
sustain a pumping rate of 20 gallons per minute.
Comment 5 :
A capture zone analysis should be performed to evaluate the
extent of influence of the extraction wells. This analysis
should include graphic flow nets in map view and in
cross-sectional view that show the predicted equipotential and
ground water flow lines when the extraction system is operat ng.
Comment 6:
TSSU suggests that additional monitoring/observation wells be
installed at critical locations to confirm that the extraction
