Draft Ground Water ROD Memorandum -6- 21 May 1992
DDRW, Sharpe
Responsiveness Summary. The RS needs to be revised to include language limiting the
scope of the investigation and remedial action to solvents. The text of the RS
could otherwise be interpreted to be a comprehensive ground water remedial action.
The RS should more clearly state that Mr. John Bingham, City Manager for the City of
Lathrop, attended the Public Meeting to express concern over the disposal of the
treated ground water and requested if the treated ground water could be used to
supplement the City' s potable water supply.
Finally, by letter dated 6 March 1992, during the Public Comment Period, the Board
commented on the Proposed Plan regarding cleanup levels. Sharpe subsequently
responded to our letter. However, our public comment has not been included in the
RS and the issue has not been resolved. The ROD should resolve this issue or
reflect our comments in the RS.
CKW:cw
