California Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> • Central Valley Region <br /> r 3443 I�utier Road, Suite A, Sacramento, Californi 55827 <br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> and <br /> Notice of Application for Revised Waste Discharge Requirements <br /> (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit) <br /> for <br /> THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE,DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY <br /> DEFENSE DISTRIBUTION REGION WEST <br /> SHARPE LOCATION <br /> INTERIM GROUND WATER CLEANUP SYSTEM <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> The Department of Defense has applied to renew its permit to discharge treated ground water to the South San Joaquin <br /> Irrigation Canal which empties into French Camp slough. The existing discharge is regulated by Waste Discharge <br /> Requirements Order No. 87-026, NPDES No. CA0081931, which regulates the discharge from the North Balloon and <br /> South Balloon ground water treatment systems. A new ground water treatment system for the Central Area has been <br /> constructed and the effluent from this system may be commingled with the existing effluent and discharged to the <br /> irrigation canal. The proposed permit limits pollutant levels in the discharge and requires a study of the possible <br /> impacts of less prevalent pollutants. <br /> The public hearing concerning this matter will be held: <br /> DATE: 8 December 1995 <br /> TIME: 8:30 a.m. <br /> PLACE: Air Resources Board, Hearing Room, Lower Level <br /> 2020 L Street, Sacramento <br /> Persons wishing to comment on or object to the proposed order are invited to submit same in writing to the Regional <br /> Board no later than 1 December 1995. All comments or objections received by this date will be considered. <br /> Additional pertinent information, concerning the adoption of the Waste Discharge Requirements, may be received by <br /> the Board upon the request of any interested person at the meeting. After considering comments or objections, the <br /> Board may adopt waste discharge requirements. Any action of the Board may be appealed to the State Water Resources <br /> Control Board within 30 days of the action. <br /> Anyone having questions on these requirements should contact the project representative, Paul Marshall, at <br /> (916) 255-3080.
