Mr. Maurice Benson
July 3, 2008
Page 3
8. Page 30, Section 5.2.5.1; The section states that 20 stakeholders in the 2007
Community Interview Process (CIP) were contacted regarding knowledge of site.
The CRP should identify whether the 2007 Stakeholders contacted are the same
as those contacted during the 2003 CIP. The comparison would allow insight as
to whether those concerns are still present or have been abated due to additional
communication of remedial progress occurring at DDJC-Tracy. In addition, it
would allow one to gauge how effective Community Outreach correspondence is
at informing the community.
9. Page 32, Section 5.3.3, Seventh bullet; This Section states that DDJC-Tracy
plans on placing a copy of the Record of Decision (ROD) Amendment in the
Administrative Record (AR). The "AR" is defined as the administrative record
and is not a clearly defined location. If the document was referring to the
DDJC-Tracy Public Affairs Office as the "AR" location, then this should be clearly
stated in the CRP. Additionally, the security procedures/checkpoint in place at
DDJC-Tracy would probably deter or minimize potential community interest in
viewing the ROD Amendment due to the constraints, therefore DTSC
recommends placing a copy of the ROD Amendment in an easily accessible
public location, possibly the Tracy Pubic Library or Tracy Community Center,
located in close proximity to DDJC-Tracy site.
10. Page 33, Section 5.3.4; For clarity, DTSC recommends that references to the
"AR" as the information repository be clearly identified in the CRP as the
DDJC-Tracy Public Affairs Office.
11. Appendix F, Stakeholder Mailing List; DTSC recommends that DESJC review
and update the mailing list as some names have changed. Ms. Xuan-Mai Tran is
no longer with the project and Ms. Michele Trotter is no longer with DTSC.
Additionally, Mr. John Guzman is retired and Mr. Marshall Cloud is the current
acting DDJC-Tracy Environmental Manager. The final mailing list should account
for these changes and any other applicable modifications.
Errata
1. Page 7, Section 2.5.15; The word "Choose" should be in lower case.
2. Page 31, Section 5.3.2; The Section is incorrectly numbered and should be
corrected to 5.3.4.
