Page 2 <br /> conduct a total threshold limit concentration test for nickel <br /> and zinc on three composite samples from the wall sections. For <br /> purposes of these tests a hand auger will be used to gather soil <br /> samples to a depth of ten feet. <br /> One additional test will be done on a composite of five samples <br /> taken from Grids G and E in the corner of the impoundment. <br /> The first verbal report on the lab results will be available on <br /> November 17th. A second lab test will then be ordered and a <br /> verbal report will be available on this test on December 1st. <br /> Assuming the second test is sufficient, a written report will be <br /> issued on December 8th. We are allowing the lab two weeks to <br /> conduct the tests from the time they receive the samples. <br /> 3. A winterization plan will be submitted on or before December 8, <br /> 1989. <br /> 4. We will submit a schedule for revising the closure plan one <br /> month after we receive the final lab test report on the side <br /> walls and Grids G and E on the bottom of the impoundment. <br /> Therefore, if we receive the report on December 8th, the <br /> schedule for revising the closure plan will be submitted to you <br /> by January 8th. <br /> The above schedule, in my estimation, is tight but attainable. If, <br /> for any reason, it appears that we will not be able to meet the stated <br /> deadlines then I will let you know.
