Discussion of proper <br /> response the different types of fires and explosions. <br /> (e) Proper response to incidents (contamination of surface water, <br /> soil , or groundwater) . <br /> (f) Shutdown of operations. <br /> (g) Accident prevention: good operating procedures, inspect and <br /> repair of safety equipment, proper storage, handling, transporting of <br /> hazardous materials. <br /> (h) Respiratory and personal protection (respirators, clothing, <br /> hardhats, shoes, etc. ) per determination of Safety Officer and Industrial <br /> Hygenist. <br /> (i) Confined space procedures. <br /> (4) Training in legal aspects of hazardous material/waste management <br /> specially what is contained in federal and state regulations pertaining to <br /> same. <br /> (a) , Title 29 CFR Occupational Safety and Health Admin, Labor <br /> • (b) Title 40 CFR Protection of the Environment <br /> (c) Title 49 CFR Transportation <br /> (d) Title 26 CCR Toxics <br /> (5) The training program content is designed so that the employee may <br /> accomplish the following: <br /> (a) Recognize, identify, and classify hazardous materials. <br /> (b) Take actions necessary to prevent hazardous material <br /> incidents, protect personal health, and prevent damage to the environment, <br /> including the contingency plan implementation, relevant to the employees' <br /> position. <br /> (c) Within the requirements of the employees' job, properly <br /> package, label , store, handle, and transport hazardous material and hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> (d) Take immediate and effective action in response to hazardous <br /> material spills or other emergencies. <br /> (e) Properly manage the resources under their control to prevent <br /> violations of applicable laws, regulations, and policies. <br /> IX-4 <br />
